The Broken Vessels Project
At the heart of The Broken Vessel Project lies Elizabeth Kathryn’s profound appreciation for the beauty of imperfection. Drawing inspiration from the age-old Japanese traditions of Kintsugi and Wabi-Sabi, this initiative reshapes perceptions and encourages an embrace of the beauty that life’s scars can bring. Kintsugi, with its luminous gold lacquer, magnifies the journey of fractured ceramics, while Wabi-Sabi invites us to celebrate the authenticity of what time leaves behind.

Through Aged Interiors, Elizabeth partners with shops that share her vision and works with materials known for strength and longevity. She turns nearly-discarded fragments into art that speaks. Rather than hide the history of these pieces, she showcases it, illustrating how adversity can shape the most powerful narratives.

bringing broken pieces to life
The Broken Vessel Project symbolizes hope, rejuvenation, and the inherent strength dwelling in the aftermath of brokenness. Each resilient piece declares: life persists, beauty survives, and strength triumphs—even amid fractures and fissures.

Strength Shared
The Broken Vessels Project also serves a broader mission. With every purchase, Aged Interiors donates 5% toward providing individuals with access to mental health support. It’s a cause close to Elizabeth’s heart, shaped by her own seasons of struggle. Through this work, she hopes to remind others that beauty is always still possible, wholeness can take on new forms, and worth is never lost in what appears to be broken.
