Chinese Elm Console

This exquisite cabinet likely originates from Northern China, dating to the late Qing Dynasty (mid-to-late 19th century).  It bears the signature elements of provincial Chinese furniture —crafted from solid elm wood, a dark finish that has naturally aged, recessed panel doors, hand-carved beveled insets, and Mortise-and-tenon joinery used throughout.
